In week two of the James sermon series we’re going to take a deeper look into how we should approach God’s word. Why does James speak about our conduct? How does he tell us to receive God’s word? What might we be missing in our personal time of devotion in God’s word? As we seek to answer these questions, we’ll see that there is a difference between receiving instruction and applying instruction. The genuineness of our faith is evident in how we apply God’s word and instruction in our lives. Listen in as Blaze McEntee explains that the way we live isn’t what determines our salvation; instead, our salvation should determine how we live.
Listen in as Blaze McEntee preaches on the spiritual discipline of prayer. In his message, he answers three questions regarding prayer: Who are we praying to? Is there a right or wrong way to pray? and When should we pray? Throughout the message we see God’s heart for His people to come to Him in truth and authenticity. Be encouraged as you hear about God’s desire for us to continually draw near to him through prayer.
This Sunday, Blaze McEntee unpacks the life of one of the Bible’s most villainous characters, Judas Iscariot. We take a look at a few scenes in scripture that shed light onto who he was, and what might have been going on in his heart. It’s a tragic end to a wasted opportunity, but even so, we find that God uses the situation for His glory, and for the salvation of many. What is happening behind the scenes in the spiritual realm with Judas? What is the role of Satan in this betrayal? Find out as we navigate God’s word in some eventful passages in this message entitled, “The Betrayer.”
We continue through the Hall of Faith in Hebrews chapter 11:7-31. In this sermon, we are encouraged to live according to God’s Word, leaving behind a legacy of faith in the likeness of those who have gone before us. We are reminded that the “Faith Heroes” of Hebrews 11 aren’t on some other level than us, but that they too lived everyday lives as we do today. Would we be reminded to know God’s Word, and to respond to God’s Word by faith in the way we live our lives.
Starting from the beginning of the book of Hebrews we’ve learned how Jesus is greater than the prophets, greater than angels, greater than Moses, greater than Joshua, greater than the Aaron, a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek, established a new Covenant, and entered the heavenly tabernacle to pay for our sins. That summarizes the first thirteen weeks we spent in the book. Today we look at how Jesus is our perfect sacrifice. Listen in as Blaze McEntee teaches on the holiness of God from Hebrews 10:1-18.
The miraculous story of Jesus’ birth doesn’t end at the stable. That is where it all starts. After Jesus is born His parents now have the immense task of caring for Jesus. They need to protect Him from Herod, figure out where to live, and much more. The first angelic visits were just the beginning! An angel warns Joseph to take Jesus to Egypt and then gives details about when to return to Judea. Listen in as Blaze McEntee teaches from Matthew 2 and describes our need to find joy in worshipping the newborn king this year.
In this message, Jesus: Our Eternal Rest, we dive into Hebrews Chapter 4 – a passage that challenges us to hold fast to our faith in God’s promise. The author directs our eyes to the Israelites in the wilderness, reminding us of their inability to enter into the promised land due to their unbelief. We see that unbelief and faith both bear visible fruit, and are encouraged to look ahead to our “promised land” as we navigate our lives in faith.
Has someone ever misused or misrepresented your name? There’s something about a name and a reputation that carries significance. In week three of our Tender Commandment series, Coastline Student Ministry Director, Blaze McEntee, teaches on the third commandment: “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.” Listen in and be encouraged to love and respect God in such a way that intentionally does not misrepresent or misuse His name.
