In this sermon, pastor Rob Hall talks about how to live a meaningful life, emphasizing the importance of investing our time and energy wisely. Using Psalm 127, the sermon underscores that any endeavor without God's involvement is ultimately futile. Solomon's wisdom in the Psalm illustrates that our efforts, whether building a house, guarding a city, or making a living, are in vain without God's blessing. On the other hand, God’s involvement ensures our work is fruitful, even granting blessings during our rest. The sermon also highlights children as a profound gift from God, conceived and nurtured with His providence, and a significant legacy that extends our impact beyond our lifetime.
Life is filled with the rollercoaster of ups and downs, good and bad, happy and sad. Life is a journey through peaks and valleys, and while the peaks are great, the valleys can be tough to get through. Psalm 126 presents a beautiful tapestry of remembrance of past joys, present pain, and a hopeful future. It presents a way forward when the pain of the present feels overwhelming. It reminds God's people both past and present that nothing is wasted when we turn it over to the Lord.

There is something so fun about taking a road trip with great friends! Think about a time you went on a journey with some of your closest friends. The time in the car, laughing, eating great food, and seeing new sights. Today we're continuing our summer sermon series through the Psalms of Ascent. This collection of psalms has been used as poems, songs, and an encouragement, as God's people traveled to Jerusalem. In Psalm 122 you get the sense that the people have made it to Jerusalem, they're standing at the edge of the temple, and they're waiting to worship God. Listen as Pastor Neal Benson teaches how, in worship we are united with God and with each other.
Have you noticed in life that we tend to head in the direction where our eyes are looking? You might have been on a road trip to visit Yosemite. You came through Tunnel View, and the majesty of what God created was overwhelming; it was all you could focus on. Today we continue our summer sermon series through the Psalms of Ascent. The Psalms of Ascent are a grouping of Psalms beginning with Psalm 120. God’s people used these Psalms in their pilgrimage to Jerusalem. This summer, we’re making a pilgrimage also; we’re focusing our energy and attention on seeking the Lord. Listen in as Pastor Neal Benson teaches on Psalm 121 and how God promises to help us and keep watch over us.
Think of a time you were in distress. It could have been because of a flat tire, someone lying about you, or uncertainty about paying the bills. This Sunday, we start a brand new sermon series on the Psalms of Ascent. In Psalm 120, we come to the first of these Psalms. The author is in distress, having a tough time. Life can bring us situations of distress. Think about when you placed your trust in Jesus. You might have come to the end of your rope. You realized that no matter how much you tried to be in control of your life, it wasn’t working. We came to the realization that we are unable to control the factors of our lives. We realized that all our efforts were actually making life worse. Some of this happened because of a broken marriage, alcoholism, depression, or hopelessness. Listen in as Pastor Neal Benson teaches us that through pilgrimage and community, God brings us ultimate peace.
We’ve all had someone invest in our life. It could have been a soccer coach, a high school teacher, or a former employee. Today we’re wrapping up our sermon series: Real Talk. For the last six weeks we’ve looked at several passages in Scripture to help us combat anxiety. We’ve learned how God’s word can calm the fears in our life. We’ve seen how the truth of God gives us freedom from worry. Today we’re going to look at a passage in the New Testament where a mentor encourages his mentee to continue in Gospel Ministry. In 2 Timothy 1:1-14 we see Paul emphasize how Christ followers are called to invest in the lives of others at a great cost.
Did you know that it’s possible to be scared to death? In the 1994 Northridge earthquake it was determined that over 100 people literally died from fear, according to Dr. Robert Kloner, a cardiologist at the Good Samaritan Hospital in L.A. This week we’re in part six of a seven week sermon series looking at fear, worry, and anxiety. Throughout this series we’ve talked about trusting God to provide all we need. We’ve looked at anxiety and how crippling that can be; fear can do the same. The problem with fear is it’s contagious, limiting, and emotionally draining. Fear is a spiritual issue, it reveals where we’ve placed our trust and where we’re hoping our deliverance will come from. Listen in as Pastor Neal Benson teaches from Psalm 23 on how the Lord comforts and protects His people.
