Hello! (actually meant to say Baaa-aaa!)
We are the Coastline Bible Church goats. Thank you so much for visiting us, it really means a lot because we are very social creatures. Come visit us any time.
Let us introduce ourselves:

A few fun facts about us:
We are Nigerian Dwarf goats, which is why we are so short and cute. Our lifespan is about 15-20 years (we have no idea how old we are).
We belong to Coastline Bible Church (they bought us last year from a place called Craigslist) and they have told us that we are on this pasture as “weed abatement.” We have no idea what that means but we really like eating all the plants that grow here. In the summer when all the grass dries up, the nice people at the church feed us bales of hay and delicious grain.
Did you know Coastline Bible Church meets for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00am? If you’re looking for a place to worship God on Sunday mornings, you should goat-ally check it out!
Two of us are males and three are female. Both male and female goats can have beards. We are all “fixed,” so you won’t be seeing any of us on The Baaaaa-chelor any time soon. And no, there won’t be any little goats running around here in the future. Young goats are called “kids,” and they’re adorable! We do share Coastline’s campus with plenty of human kids, though!
Did you know that Coastline has a preschool for kids aged 18 months to pre-k and an elementary school for kindergarten through 2nd grade? If you’ve got kids, you’ve goat to check out Coastline Bible Preschool.
We like to climb, which is why we have this fancy old playset-turned-goathouse. You may have seen us lounging in the sun on top of the old monkey bars (now it’s our sun deck). The shed down below protects us from the seasonal rain and wind.
Can you guess what our favorite song is?
“Row, Row, Row your Goat”
We LOVE snacks like carrots and apples or even your leftover watermelon rinds. But please don’t feed us chocolate or any kind of citrus… those are toxic to goats! It is also best to avoid any processed or sweet treats… as you can see, we are prone to putting on weight. We just really love to eat!
Do you know what we love most in the whole world? Head scratches! Don’t be shy, just reach through the fence and give our heads a good scratch. Right at the base of our horns and ears… that’s the spot!
Did you notice we don’t have upper teeth? It’s true. Just gums on top and little teeth on the bottom. Sheep are the same way. Since we eat mostly delicate plants, we don’t need top teeth to take bites out of things like you humans do.
And speaking of plants, did you know that we goats chew our cud? It’s called “ruminating.” You humans only have 1 stomach, but we goats have a divided stomach with 4 compartments. When we are grazing (or accepting an apple core from you), we are basically swallowing the food whole without chewing it. Later on when we’re relaxing in the sun or on our goathouse, we will burp up a mouthful of food, chew it thoroughly and swallow it back down. Other animals that do this are cows, deer, sheep, and antelopes.
Okay, thanks for letting us introduce ourselves!
