MEMBERSHIP SEMINAR

If you've been waiting for your opportunity to take the step of official membership at Coastline, save the date for a membership seminar on Saturday, March 11 from 10 AM to 3 PM!  Lunch will be included.  Participation in this seminar will allow you to complete the process of becoming a member of the church with all the attendant rights and privileges. The seminar will cover all 5 steps of the Integration Ministry listed below. To sign up for the seminar, email the church office

Since believer's baptism is a prerequisite for membership at Coastline, we will be offering an opportunity to be baptized during the worship service on Sunday, March 12. This opportunity will allow membership candidates who have not been baptized to fulfill this requirement, but is also open to anyone else who desires baptism. Please email the church office if you desire to be baptized.

Integration Ministry

“Am I really in or am I really out?”

A person that’s sitting on the shore of a river with their feet in the water might try to argue that they’re in the river. But another could argue even more convincingly that they’re really more out than in. Today, many people find themselves attending a church;  even somewhat regularly, but never really becoming a part of the fellowship of that church. We could say that they’re sitting on the shore with their feet in but they’re really more out than in. This is not God’s design for His children. God has provided the fellowship of believers, the church, to be an indispensable relational network designed to help people like us stay connected with Christ so we can grow and bear abundant spiritual fruit.

“But it’s not that easy getting in…”

Getting all the way into a river can sometimes be uncomfortable. The water feels pretty chilly at first. But eventually we can become acclimated if we keep stepping in. Becoming part of a church fellowship can be like that too. It can feel pretty chilly to us at first – especially on a social level. “Everyone seems to know everyone else. Where do I fit in?” Here at Coastline, we want to do all we can to help everyone become acclimated as simply and as effectively as possible. The ultimate goal of our Integration Ministry is to help you and others like you get connected and stay connected.

“So how do I get in?”

We’ve designed a simple 5-step process that will help you get from the shoreline all the way into the river one step at a time. We know that once you’re in, you’ll become so acclimated that getting out will feel chilly! Our Integration process will help you discover what Coastline is about. But just as important, it will help you get connected in a most natural way by taking these steps right alongside others who, just like you, are becoming acclimated!

Step 1: Welcome to Coastline

This first step is an informal one-hour session conducted by our pastor. He’ll share with you some of the rich history of Coastline Bible Church and give you some insights into the exciting and life-transforming things that God is doing in and through our church fellowship today. But this session is designed to be more than just informative; it’s also designed to help you make some meaningful connections with our senior pastor and with others like you who are taking their first step.

Upcoming Welcome to Coastline Dates: TBA

Welcome to Coastline is held at 9:00 a.m. in Room 101.

Step 2: Membership Class

Step two is also an informal one hour session designed to answer 5 very important questions about church membership:

1.     What is church membership?

2.     Is church membership important?

3.     Is church membership biblical?

4.     What are the benefits of church membership?

5.     What are the responsibilities of church membership?

You’ll leave this session with a clear grasp of what church membership really is and why we want you to become a member here at Coastline.

Upcoming Membership Class Dates: TBA

The Membership Class is held at 9:00 a.m. in Room 101.

STEP 3: Baptism Class

Baptism is an extremely important part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. Therefore:

 -   It’s important to know what baptism is

-   It’s important to know what baptism is not

-   It’s important to know why baptism is so important

Many people have been baptized at a very early age, not really understanding what it was all about. Others have been baptized but with several misconceptions about what baptism means. Still others have never been baptized. This class is designed to inform and prepare people for baptism and then schedule a baptism service for them.

Upcoming Baptism Class Date:  TBA

The Baptism Class is held at 9:00 a.m. in Room 101.

Once these first three steps are completed, you’re name will be recommended for membership at Coastline.

STEP 4: Intro to S.H.A.P.E.

S.H.A.P.E. is an acronym that stands for:

  • SPIRITUAL GIFTS – Your unique spiritual gifting
  • HEART – Your unique life-passions
  • ABILITIES – Your unique skills, abilities and aptitudes
  • PERSONALITY – Your unique identity and perspectives
  • EXPERIENCES – Your unique story

Through the application of scriptural teaching, along with some helpful self-inventory tools, you’ll discover how God has uniquely designed you to carry out His Kingdom purposes. Once you understand how to serve in conformity with God's design for you, serving becomes a joy, not a burden.  This class is an introduction only to the S.H.A.P.E. curriculum.  The entire curriculum is a 5-week class that we offer twice a year.

Upcoming  Intro to S.H.A.P.E. Class Dates:  TBA

The Intro to S.H.A.P.E. Class is held at 9:00 a.m. in Room 101.

STEP 5: Intro to OIKOS

OIKOS (oy-kaws) is a funny sounding word that you’ll hear used a lot around Coastline. It’s a Greek word that teaches us how to focus our evangelism and discipleship efforts in the most effective way.  Because OIKOS is such a definitive part of our who we are, we want people to become familiarized with it as soon as possible.  This class is an introduction only to the OIKOS approach to ministry.  The entire OIKOS curriculum is a 5-week class that we offer twice a year.

Upcoming Intro to Oikos Class Dates: TBA

The Intro to Oikos Class is held at 9:00 a.m. in Room 101.

All-In

After you’ve walked your way through this 5-step Integration process, you will have become an indispensible part of the fellowship of believers called Coastline Bible Church. You will have also made some great friends along the way. Before you know it, you’ll be all-in and once you’re all-in, you’ll understand why God never intended for His children to do life on their own – it’s so much better when we do it together!
